Salford Diocese Academy Trust Strategy

St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust is proud to play a central role in the Diocese of Salford’s vision for the future of Catholic education. As one of three diocesan Catholic Academy Trusts, we are working closely with the Bishop and the Diocesan Department for Education to help realise the plan that, by 2030, every Catholic school in the diocese will be part of a strong, mission-led Trust.

Our Trust Mission is simple: to make Christ known, making lives better for our communities, our children, and our young people. Inspired by the faith, service, and humility of our patron, St Teresa of Calcutta, we are committed to protecting, promoting, and strengthening the distinctive mission of Catholic education across all our schools.

Everything we do is underpinned by our core values of hope, courage, and innovation. We work in partnership with parishes, families, and communities to nurture faith formation, deliver excellent education, and support the development of every child in a loving, Christ-centred environment.

Through collaboration, shared stewardship, and a deep commitment to the common good, St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust is helping to build a strong, sustainable future for Catholic education in our Diocese, ensuring it remains a source of life, hope, and opportunity for generations to come.  You can learn more about Bishop John’s vision for education in our Diocese by clicking here.

Our Growth Journey

The past academic year has been one of significant achievement and continued progress for St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust. As we grow together, we remain steadfast in our mission to Make Christ Known, ensuring that our schools flourish as places of faith, learning, and community.

Our Trust has continued to thrive, with all Ofsted and Catholic School Inspections resulting in Good or better outcomes. These successes reflect the commitment and dedication of our school leaders, staff, and governors who work tirelessly to provide the very best for the children in our care. However, our vision extends far beyond inspections and ratings. We are a Christ-centred Catholic community, built on hope, courage, and innovation, striving to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

By the end of this calendar year, our Trust will be home to over 25 schools, each bringing its own unique charism and identity, yet all united in our shared Catholic mission. This growth is not simply about numbers—it is about strengthening our ability to support, nurture, and uplift every school family that joins us. As part of the Salford Diocesan Academy strategy, we welcome every new school into our Trust with open arms, recognising the richness that each brings to our wider community.

We are immensely proud of what we have achieved together, and we remain ambitious for the future. With every step forward, we deepen our commitment to providing high-quality Catholic education and ensuring that every child in our care is given the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.

As we continue to grow, we invite all stakeholders to join us in this journey—to witness first-hand the incredible work taking place in our schools and to share in our vision of transformation. Together, we are building a Trust that is like no other, one that truly makes lives better and keeps Christ at the heart of all we do.
