Leading with Compassion: STOC Leadership Conference 2025

On Friday 14th March, leaders from across the St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust came together for a powerful and reflective Leadership Conference, rooted in the theme of this year’s Pilgrimage of Hope.

The day invited leaders to pause, reconnect with their purpose, and reflect on their call to be agents of change—living out our mission to make Christ known, making lives better for our communities, our children and young people.

The conference began with a welcome from Catholic Senior Executive Leader, Chris Foley, followed by an opening liturgy that set the tone for a day grounded in faith, purpose, and hope.

One of the most moving moments of the day came through the powerful witness of Barry and Margaret Mizen. Sharing the story of their son Jimmy, and their journey of forgiveness following his tragic death, they reminded us all of the transformative power of love, reconciliation, and compassion in the face of adversity.

Chris Foley’s session, Our Journey To Date, offered a chance to reflect on how far we have come as a Trust—and the vision that continues to guide our steps.

The afternoon welcomed the ever-inspiring Sir John Jones, whose session “From Teacher to Life-Changer: The Magic of Connection” reignited the passion in every leader in the room. His words were a reminder that our roles are not just professional—they are deeply personal, rooted in the relationships we build and the hope we bring to the lives we touch.

As the day closed, leaders left not only informed and inspired, but spiritually uplifted—renewed in their vocation to lead with integrity, courage and love.
