On 29th March 2025, STOC welcomed governors from across our family of schools and footprint to our second Governance Conference, a morning of reflection, insight and connection.
Grounded in our mission to make Christ known, making lives better for our communities, our children and young people, the conference brought together local governors and Trust leaders to explore the evolving landscape of education and the crucial role of governance in our schools.
The morning opened with a reflection and welcome from Chris Foley, Catholic Senior Executive Leader, who later shared his insights on The Changing Educational Landscape. Delegates also heard from David O’Brien, Chair of Governors at St Gabriel’s RC High School, on the responsibilities and realities of chairing a Local Governing Body.
Further sessions included Jenny Bonson, Chief Information Officer, speaking on The Role of a Governor in the STOC Context, and Victoria Del Giudice, Head of Governance, who shared the journey and future direction of STOC’s governance service.
The morning closed with a final reflection from Chris Foley, followed by an opportunity for governors to network and share their own experiences.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this important event. We are proud of the strength and commitment of our governance community, working in partnership to shape a future filled with hope for the children and young people we serve.
